Information
Why should you spend your hard earned money on our services? This section breaks down the why behind our services, highlighting important things to know as well as FAQ's.
Lawn Maintenance
A consistently maintained lawn isn’t just about appearance — it’s about proper cutting, clean edges, and routine care done correctly every visit. At Max Outdoor Solutions, lawn maintenance is performed with professional equipment, attention to detail, and clear expectations.
Our service is designed for homeowners who want reliable results without shortcuts.
Monthly Service Minimum
Starting at $115 per month
Every lawn maintenance plan includes the full service listed below — no stripped-down packages, no surprise add-ons.
-
Professional mowing at appropriate height
-
Clean edging along all paved surfaces: driveways, patios, sidewalks, and landscape beds
-
Weed eating around trees, fences, and other obstacles
-
Clearing paved surfaces of unwanted debris using blowers
What is not Included (But Available)
To keep pricing fair and consistent, certain services are not included in standard lawn maintenance:
-
Picking up sticks, branches, or debris
-
Storm or hurricane cleanup
-
Debris caused by heavy rain, wind, or fallen limbs
-
Bush and plant trimming
These items can absolutely be handled, but they are billed separately.
In most cases, debris removal is a small add-on (usually no more than $50, dependent upon property) on top of your monthly service.
This ensures:
-
Customers without debris aren’t subsidizing cleanup for others
-
Extra labor is priced honestly and fairly
What Affects Lawn Maintenance Pricing?
While the minimum monthly service starts at $115, final pricing is based on several real-world factors:
-
Property size
-
Proximity to service area
-
Obstacles (trees, poles, beds, fencing, etc.)
-
Access & layout
For example:
A wide, open square lawn takes significantly less time and wear on equipment than a property with multiple trees, narrow passes, flower beds, or tight turns.
Pricing reflects time, complexity, and efficiency, not just square footage.
Important Notes on Plant & Sod Responsibility
Lawn maintenance does not include any warranty or guarantee on:
-
Sod survival
-
Plant health
-
Turf recovery
This is because outcomes are heavily influenced by factors outside of routine mowing, including:
-
Irrigation scheduling and coverage
-
Soil conditions
-
Fertilization practices
-
Freezes, floods, storms, and hurricanes
-
Pest or disease activity
-
Pre-existing lawn or soil conditions
Acts of nature and irrigation control are beyond the scope of lawn maintenance service.
What Is Covered
If damage occurs solely due to our actions, we will repair it at no cost to you.
Covered examples include:
-
Scalping turf to an irrecoverable height
-
Creating deep ruts or tire tracks where grass can no longer grow
-
Direct physical damage caused by equipment misuse
In these cases, we will:
-
Replace only the affected area
-
Use appropriate sod or turf repair methods
-
Perform the repair at no additional charge
Lawn Maintenance FAQs
Do you edge every visit?
Yes. Edging is included with every scheduled service — not rotated or skipped. However, if a customer requests otherwise it can absolutely be skipped, as such would be only recommended in very special circumstances.
Do you pick up sticks or debris before mowing?
No. Debris removal is not included, but it can be added for a small fee if needed.
What happens after a storm?
Storm debris is billed separately. Light cleanup is usually quick and affordable, but it must be addressed before mowing.
Why does my neighbor pay less than I do?
Each property is priced individually based on size, layout, access, and obstacles — not by street or neighborhood.
Do you offer bi-weekly or one-time mowing?
Routine maintenance is prioritized. One-time or irregular service is available depending on scheduling and condition, but is usually more expensive due to overgrown fees, or schedule changes.
Do you guarantee my lawn will stay green?
No. Lawn health depends on irrigation, weather, and soil conditions outside the scope of mowing services.
Mulch, Straw, Bark, & Rock Installation
Ground cover plays a major role in plant health, drainage, moisture control, and long-term maintenance. At Max Outdoor Solutions, material installation is done with proper preparation, correct depth, and materials selected for Florida conditions — not just appearance.
These installations are designed to last, not wash out, thin out, or fail prematurely.
Flat-Rate Pricing (Not Hourly)
All mulch, pine straw, bark, and rock installations are priced at a flat rate.
Pricing is based on:
-
Type of material selected
-
Quantity of material required
-
Approximate square footage of the bed
-
Access and handling difficulty
-
Material weight (rock installs)
What’s Always Included
Every installation includes proper preparation and minimum depth standards to ensure performance:
-
Bed preparation (light weed removal and surface prep)
-
Material installation at correct depth:
-
Mulch & pine bark: minimum 4 inches
-
Decorative rock: minimum 2 inches
-
Pine straw / pine needles: minimum 3 inches
-
-
Even coverage and clean finish
What Is Not Included Unless Quoted
To keep pricing fair and transparent, the following are not included by default:
-
Edge resetting or new edging installation
-
Weed barrier
-
Severely overgrown bed prep
-
Removal of buried roots or debris
-
Irrigation repairs or rerouting
Severely overgrown beds are charged at a higher per-square-foot rate due to additional labor and prep time.
Any additional work is clearly outlined in advance.
Weed Barrier Policy (Rock Installations Only)
Weed barrier is only used with decorative rock installations.
Our standards:
-
3–8 oz non-woven geotextile fabric, dependent on weight of rocks
-
Designed for proper drainage
-
Rated to handle rock weight
-
Prevents rock migration and soil mixing
We do not recommend weed barrier under mulch or pine products, as it:
-
Restricts natural breakdown
-
Traps debris
-
Reduces soil health over time
Rock Installations: Important Considerations
Decorative rock is recommended only in specific conditions, such as:
-
Areas prone to puddling or flooding
-
Drainage-challenged locations
Rock pricing is influenced by:
-
Material weight
-
Delivery requirements
-
Handling difficulty
-
Access to beds
Rock is not recommended for most planting beds where mulch or pine straw performs better long-term.
Irrigation & Landscape Infrastructure
Any irrigation lines, heads, or system components within landscape beds are not included in material installation pricing.
-
Irrigation work is quoted separately
-
Adjustments or repairs must be addressed before or after installation
Mulch, Pine Product & Rock FAQs
How do you price these installs if it’s not hourly?
Pricing is based on material type, volume, bed size, and labor intensity — not time alone.
Why do you require minimum depth?
Proper depth ensures moisture retention, weed suppression, and longevity. Thin installs fail quickly.
Can you remove old mulch or rock first?
Yes, but removal is not included unless stated in your estimate and may require additional labor or disposal charges.
Is weed barrier included?
Only with rock installations. It is not recommended for mulch or pine straw.
Should I choose rock or mulch?
Rock is best where drainage or flooding is common. Mulch or pine straw performs better in most other areas.
Property Cleanups
Property cleanups are designed to reset overgrown or neglected outdoor spaces so they can be properly maintained or renovated. Whether a yard has been ignored for months or heavily impacted by vegetation growth, our cleanup service focuses on restoring order, access, and usability.
This is a labor-intensive service, and pricing reflects the actual work required, not just the size of the property.
When do you Need a Cleanup?
Cleanups are commonly used:
-
As a one-time reset
-
As a starting point for routine lawn maintenance
-
As the first phase of a landscape renovation
Most successful landscape renovations begin with a cleanup — just like lawns require a reset before ongoing care.
What a Cleanup Service Can Include
Cleanup services are customized based on property condition and may include:
-
Cutting back overgrown grass and weeds
-
Heavy trimming of shrubs and plants
-
Clearing landscape beds
-
Chainsaw work and light tree cutting when necessary
-
Clearing tangled or inaccessible areas
-
Final blowing and site cleanup
What is not automatically included
To keep pricing fair and transparent, the following are not included by default in cleanup pricing:
-
Large-scale tree removal
-
Extensive debris hauling or dumping
-
Stump grinding or root removal
-
Land clearing or grading
-
Disposal of construction or household waste
These items may be required depending on property condition and will be clearly outlined in your estimate if applicable.
Flat-Rate Pricing (Not Hourly)
Cleanup services are priced as a flat rate, not hourly labor.
This means:
-
You are not billed by the hour
-
Pricing is determined by:
-
Labor intensity
-
Overgrowth severity
-
Obstacles and access
-
Equipment required
-
Disposal volume (if applicable)
-
A cleanup that takes two hours may cost more than one that takes four if it requires chainsaw work, heavy cutting, or difficult access.
Debris and Disposal Policy
Unless explicitly stated in your estimate:
-
Debris hauling is not included in cleanup pricing
-
Most cleanup debris is staged for city yard waste pickup
-
Large volumes or non-standard debris may require:
-
Additional hauling fees
-
Dump charges
-
Alternate disposal methods
-
Any required hauling or dumping will be discussed before work begins.
Cleanup Service FAQs
Is tree or chainsaw work included?
It can be. Light tree cutting or chainsaw work may be necessary on overgrown properties but is not automatically included unless required.
Will my yard look perfect afterward?
Cleanups dramatically improve appearance and accessibility. If you’re looking for a fully redesigned landscape, we can perform a post-cleanup landscape renovation.
Do you haul away debris?
Debris hauling is not included unless stated in your estimate. Most debris is placed for city yard waste pickup.
How is pricing determined if it’s not hourly?
Pricing is based on the overall labor required, intensity, access, equipment, and debris volume — not time alone.
Can a cleanup turn into a full landscape redesign?
Yes. Most landscape renovations begin with a cleanup, and we can transition directly into bed redesign, plant installation, or layout changes.
Sod Installation
Sod installation is a preparation- and irrigation-dependent service, not just laying grass. At Max Outdoor Solutions, sod is installed using professional preparation standards, proper cutting techniques, and high-quality turf sourced fresh daily to give it the best possible chance to establish.
However, long-term success depends heavily on watering, fertilization, and environmental conditions beyond the installation itself.
Flat-Rate Pricing
All sod installations are priced at a flat rate, not hourly.
-
Minimum sod installation price: $250
-
No minimum or maximum square footage
-
Small jobs may be priced per piece
-
Larger installs benefit from reduced per-piece pricing when ordering half or full pallets
Pricing accounts for:
-
Material sourcing and delivery
-
Labor and handling
-
Installation complexity
What’s Always Included
Every sod installation includes proper preparation and professional installation standards:
-
Removal of all foreign debris from the install area
-
Proper tilling or surface preparation based on site conditions
-
Installation of sod dressing/topsoil
-
Professional cutting and fitting of every piece
-
Initial watering set before leaving the property
Site Preparation Levels
Preparation is billed per square foot and varies based on severity.
-
Light prep: raking and clearing surface debris
-
Moderate prep: soil conditioning, leveling, additional tilling
-
Heavy prep: cutting out or removing existing or living sod
Prep cost increases based on:
-
Severity of existing turf or soil condition
-
Difficulty of access
-
Labor intensity required
Proper prep is not optional — it is required for successful installation.
Irrigation Requirements & Responsibilities
-
A properly functioning irrigation system is strongly recommended
-
We will set initial watering at installation
-
Ongoing watering is the customer’s responsibility
-
We do not return to water after installation
We can recommend irrigation schedules and advise that the system be checked or adjusted, but irrigation work is not included in sod installation pricing.
Exception:
Bahia sod is the only sod we will install without irrigation.
Sod Types & Recommendations
We install any sod type and tailor recommendations based on:
-
Flood frequency
-
Shade tolerance
-
Salt exposure
-
Drought conditions
All sod is sourced from reputable local suppliers and delivered fresh, typically the same day it is cut.
Warranty & Responsibility Policy
There is no warranty on sod installation.
If sod fails within the first month, it is due to factors outside of installation, including:
-
Improper watering
-
Fertilization errors
-
Chemical or treatment application
-
Weather events
-
Foot traffic or pets
These risks are clearly disclosed prior to installation.
Settling, Gaps & Follow-Up
It is normal for sod to settle or develop small gaps, especially during periods of heavy rain or active growth.
-
If gaps or settling occur within the first month:
-
We can return and fill affected areas with appropriate topsoil
-
This service is available for a small service fee
-
This is considered routine post-install adjustment, not a defect.
Sod Installation FAQs
Why is there a minimum price even for small areas?
Material sourcing, delivery, prep, and setup costs apply regardless of square footage.
Do you guarantee sod survival?
No. Sod survival depends on watering, soil, weather, and care after installation.
Will you water the sod every day after install?
No. We set initial watering only. Ongoing watering is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Can you install sod over existing grass?
No. Existing sod must be removed for proper rooting and longevity.
Can you help choose the right sod type?
Yes. Recommendations are based on your property’s conditions, not guesswork.
Bush & Plant Trimming
Proper trimming is about more than cutting plants back — it’s about maintaining health, shape, and long-term growth. At Max Outdoor Solutions, trimming services are performed with attention to plant type, season, and customer preference, while maintaining safe and responsible pruning standards.
Flat-Rate Pricing
All bush and plant trimming is priced at a flat rate, not hourly.
Pricing is based on:
-
Number of plants
-
Degree of trimming required
-
Plant type and difficulty
-
Access and working space
How Trimming Is Performed
Trimming is completed to the customer’s specifications, which may include:
-
Shaping for appearance
-
Cutting back dead or damaged growth
-
Seasonal trim-backs
If a requested trim would negatively impact plant health or safety, concerns will be clearly discussed before work begins.
Debris Handling & Cleanup
Debris handling depends on plant location and existing services at the property:
-
Plants not in landscape beds
-
Material may be mulched under the plant
-
Or dispersed by mower if lawn service is already being performed
-
-
Plants within landscape beds
-
Debris is picked up, tarped, and staged for city yard waste removal
-
Whenever possible:
-
Property owner yard waste bins are used first
-
Bagging is minimized
-
Most residential jobs do not require a dump trip
What Is Not Included
To keep pricing clear and fair, the following are not included in trimming services:
-
Plant or bush removal
-
Root or stump removal
-
Large-scale debris hauling or dumping
-
Landscape bed reconstruction
Plant or bush removal can absolutely be handled, but it is quoted separately.
Condition-Based Pricing Adjustments
Certain plants and conditions require additional labor and safety precautions and may increase pricing, including:
-
Thorny plants
-
Dense or heavily overgrown growth
-
Tight access or hazardous working conditions
Seasonal & Growth Considerations
Florida’s climate allows for trimming most of the year, with some important considerations:
-
Spring and fall are ideal for most trimming
-
Heavy trimming during extreme heat or cold is avoided
-
Routine trimming rarely affects plant survival
-
Heavy winter cutbacks may delay regrowth until the prime growing season
These risks are discussed before trimming begins.
Warranty & Plant Survival
There is no warranty on plant or bush survival following trimming.
While routine trimming is generally safe:
-
Weather
-
Seasonal timing
-
Plant health
-
Environmental conditions
all play a role in regrowth and are outside of our control.
Bush & Plant Trimming FAQs
Can you trim plants into specific shapes?
Yes. Trimming can be done to your preferred shape or style within safe pruning standards.
Do you haul away trimmings?
Most debris is staged for city pickup or placed in yard waste bins. Dump hauling is uncommon and billed separately if required.
Do you remove bushes or plants?
Removal is not included in trimming but can be quoted separately.
Can trimming be done year-round?
Generally yes, with exceptions during extreme weather or when heavy cutbacks would risk plant recovery.
Will trimming kill my plants?
Routine trimming rarely causes harm. Heavy cutbacks during winter may delay or prevent regrowth in some species.

Landscape Bed Design & Installation
Landscape beds are more than decorative borders — they define the structure, flow, and long-term maintenance of your outdoor space. At Max Outdoor Solutions, landscape bed design and construction is approached as a planned project, combining functional layout, proper construction techniques, and plant placement that works with Florida conditions.
Every bed is designed with longevity, drainage, and growth in mind, not just short-term appearance.
Project Pricing
Landscape bed design and construction is priced at a flat rate, not hourly.
Pricing is primarily based on:
-
Overall square footage
-
Design complexity
-
Site conditions
-
Material selections
Additional factors that may affect price:
-
Leveling or grading requirements
-
Root systems or compacted soil
-
Existing material removal
-
Disposal or dump trips
Design & Planning Process
Every project begins with intentional design, not guesswork.
Our process includes:
-
On-site consultation and walkthrough
-
Discussion of plant and tree preferences
-
Selection of ground cover (mulch, rock, etc.)
-
Drafting a clear plan for construction
Designs prioritize:
-
Functionality
-
Drainage
-
Mature plant size
-
Visual balance
Customer approval is required before construction begins.
Construction Standards
All landscape beds are constructed using consistent professional standards:
-
Beds are cut in at a minimum depth of 4 inches along the turf line
-
This depth improves edging longevity and structural integrity
-
Mulch beds are installed at a minimum 4-inch depth, creating a raised bed effect
-
Clean, defined transitions between turf and bed
Where necessary:
-
Leveling or grading is included, with pricing adjusted accordingly
-
Beds are contoured to support proper water flow
Plant Placement & Spacing Philosophy
Plant placement is designed for long-term success, not overcrowding.
General guidelines include:
-
Small plants and shrubs kept at least 1 foot away from structures
-
Larger bushes and trees placed only where safe clearance allows
-
Smaller accent plants placed toward the front
-
Taller or focal plants staggered toward the rear
This creates depth, balance, and easier maintenance.
Edging, Materials & Ground Cover
Customers may choose from:
-
Concrete / paver edging
-
Poly / plastic edging systems
Ground cover options are selected based on conditions:
-
Mulch for most planting areas
-
Rock in areas prone to flooding or pooling water
For rock installations:
-
Weed barrier is included
Irrigation & Drainage Considerations
-
Beds can be designed around existing irrigation, especially during renovations
-
New drip irrigation is not always required
-
Additions or modifications to irrigation can be completed and quoted separately
Drainage solutions may be incorporated when necessary, particularly for:
-
Properties near bodies of water
-
Areas with repeated pooling
Existing Material Removal
Removal of existing landscape materials (mulch, rock, fabric, turf) is not automatically included.
-
Removal needs are evaluated during planning
-
Any required removal is reflected in pricing
Project Timeline & Approval
Typical project flow:
-
Initial consultation
-
Design and plant selection
-
Customer approval of plans and materials
-
Deposit (typically 50%, at our discretion)
-
Construction begins
-
Project completed within the agreed timeline
Any changes after approval — including material availability, weather delays, or design adjustments — may result in additional costs and will be discussed as needed.
